FACILITIES

The HRCL (Human Reproduction Center of Londrina) has an area of 287 square yards (240 square meters) specially designed and built to that purpose.  It was designed and based on services of excellence in Human Reproduction; following all the rules needed to assure the security and health of the couples that need our services. 

The Human Reproduction of Londrina has two comforting waiting rooms to the couples, a suite to the couple to rest when necessary, and a large library.  It has a complete surgery center with oxygen and compressed air available in all surgery center and suites giving the security needed in a hospital.  It also has a room specially designed to collect the sperm, an ultra-sound room, a lab to prepare the sperm and eventual freezing, a lab of assisted fertilization and handling of gametes where is installed advanced microscopes and the gametes micromanipulator. 

There are gynecologic exams rooms with Colposcope, ultra-sound and all the equipments needed to do the specialized exams in general gynecologic, reproductive, and obstetric; also has interview rooms where the couples receive orientations and have their doubts clarified.

The Human Reproduction Center of Londrina was founded in 1994 and gave to the city in that same year the first test tube baby of Londrina.  It is the first Center specialized on the treatment of conjugal sterility through the techniques of assisted reproduction, and since the beginning has Dr. Osmar Henriques , the associate founder, as the gynecologist and obstetrician specialized in Human Reproduction.  In 1995 the City Hall of Londrina honored the Human Reproduction Center of Londrina for the birth of the first baby born in Londrina through assisted reproduction techniques. 

Throughout a high technologic work developed by Dr. Osmar Alécio Cordeiro Henriques, embryologist, and responsible for the human reproduction lab, the HRCL has made available to the couples the eggs donation for those women that for medical reasons (uterus lost, birth defects or organic diseases) wouldn’t be able to complete a pregnancy; and also the ICSI (Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection) specially indicated to solve male factor problems.  Since the beginning of the activities and until now there are many couples that have fulfilled their dreams of become a father or a mother at the HRCL.
